This is different from a like or a view. A share means someone copied your link and sent it somewhere else. The person who received it sees your video for the first time through a source that had nothing to do with YouTube's own recommendations.

Not directly. A share does not add a view — it puts your link in front of new audiences who may or may not click it. If they click and watch, your view count increases. The value of a share is reach and distribution, not a guaranteed view. That said, a share that lands in front of 50 interested people in a relevant community is more valuable than 50 paid views from uninterested accounts.

The minimum reward for a YouTube sharing task is $0.05 per completed task.

You decide where shares go by specifying it in your task instructions. Common options include:

If you don't specify a platform, workers choose. If you do specify, workers who can't meet your requirement will skip the task.

Yes. Just write it into your task instructions. Be specific: if you want Reddit shares, name which subreddits are acceptable. If you want Twitter shares, mention whether the account needs a minimum follower count. The more specific your instructions, the more precisely workers will follow them — and the easier it is for you to approve or reject based on objective criteria.

YouTube's internal analytics track off-platform shares — specifically when someone uses the Share button or copies the link from within YouTube. Shares distributed via RapidWorkers (workers copying the link and posting it externally) register as external referrals when viewers click through. YouTube does count external traffic sources in its analytics. However, YouTube's algorithm response to share volume is not publicly documented, and we cannot guarantee specific algorithmic outcomes.

Workers submit a screenshot of their share — showing the platform, their username, and your video link or thumbnail visible in the post. You review this screenshot before approving. If the screenshot is missing, cropped to hide the platform, or shows a different video, you reject it. Requiring proof is built into the task by your instructions — you set the standard and workers meet it or get rejected.

You can add a retention requirement to your task: for example, 'Do not delete the share for 7 days after submission.' Workers who accept the task agree to these terms. If you discover a share was deleted, you can reject the submission — or, if it was already approved, open a dispute. Requiring proof of the share at the time of submission is your first line of defense; retention requirements add a second layer.

Some services send API signals to YouTube to inflate the share counter without any actual distribution. Nobody receives your video. Nobody sees the link. The number goes up on a dashboard and stops there.
